Electric Forklift Battery and Motor Maintenance Guide:

Electric Forklift Battery and Motor Maintenance Guide:

1、 Battery

The preparation work is as follows:

(1) Check and remove the dust and dirt on the surface, check each one for damage, and if there is any damage, repair or replace it according to the damage situation.

(2) Check the charging equipment, instruments, and tools, and prepare or repair them in a timely manner if there are any missing or faulty ones.

(3) The charging equipment needs to match the capacity and voltage of the battery.

(4) Charging must be carried out using a DC power source. The (+) and (-) poles of the charging device should be connected correctly to avoid damaging the battery.

(5) The temperature of the electrolyte during charging should be controlled between 15 and 45 ℃.

 matters needing attention

 (1) The surface of the battery should be kept clean and dry.

 (2) When the electrolyte density (30 ℃) does not reach 1.28 ± 0.01g/cm3 at the beginning of discharge, adjustments should be made.

Adjustment method: If the density is low, a portion of the electrolyte should be taken out and injected with a pre configured sulfuric acid solution with a density not exceeding 1.400g/cm3; If the density is high, a portion of the electrolyte can be removed and adjusted by injecting distilled water.

(3) The height of the electrolyte level should be 15-20mm higher than the protective net.

(4) After the battery is discharged, it should be charged in a timely manner, and the storage time should not exceed 24 hours.

(5) Batteries should avoid overcharging, over discharge, strong discharge, and insufficient charging as much as possible, otherwise it will shorten the battery life.

(6) No harmful impurities are allowed to fall into the battery. The instruments and tools used to measure the density, strength, and liquid level of the electrolyte should be kept clean to prevent impurities from entering the battery.

(7) There should be good ventilation conditions in the charging room, and no fireworks are allowed to avoid accidents.

(8) During the use of batteries, if the voltage of each individual battery in the battery pack is uneven and not used frequently, a balanced charging should be conducted once a month.

2、 Motor

 Inspection items:

(1) The motor rotor should rotate flexibly and have no abnormal noise.

(2) Check if the wiring of the motor is correct and secure.

(3) Check if the commutator pads on the commutator are clean.

(4) Are the fasteners loose and the brush holder secure

Maintenance work:

(1) Normally, it is inspected every six months, mainly for external inspection and surface cleaning of the motor.

(2) Planned maintenance work must be carried out once a year.

(3) If the surface of the commutator that has been used for a period of time shows a basically consistent light red color, it is normal.
