Do you understand the maintenance methods for the four wheel area of excavators?

To ensure smooth and fast walking of excavators, maintenance and upkeep of the four wheel area is crucial!

01 Supporting wheel:

Avoid soaking

During work, efforts should be made to avoid the support wheels being immersed in mud and water for a long time. After completing the work every day, one side of the track should be supported, and the walking motor should be driven to remove debris such as mud and gravel from the track;

Keep dry

During winter construction, it is necessary to keep the supporting wheels dry, as there is a floating seal between the outer wheel and the shaft of the supporting wheels. If there is water, it will form ice at night. When moving the excavator the next day, the seal will be scratched in contact with the ice, causing oil leakage;

Avoiding damage

Damaged supporting wheels can cause many malfunctions, such as walking deviation, weak walking, and so on.

02 Carrier roller:

Avoiding damage

The carrier roller is located above the X frame to maintain the linear motion of the track. If the carrier roller is damaged, it will cause the track track to not maintain a straight line.

Keep clean and avoid soaking in mud and water

The support roller is a one-time injection of lubricating oil. If there is an oil leak, it can only be replaced with a new one. During work, it is important to avoid the support roller from being immersed in mud and water for a long time. It is important to keep the inclined platform of the X frame clean and not allow too much soil and gravel to accumulate to hinder the rotation of the support roller.

03 Idler:

The idler is located in front of the X frame and consists of the idler and a tension spring installed inside the X frame.

Keep the direction ahead

During operation and walking, it is necessary to keep the guide wheel in front to avoid abnormal wear of the chain track. The tensioning spring can also absorb the impact of the road surface during work and reduce wear.

04 Drive wheel:

Keep the drive wheel behind the X-frame

The drive wheel is located at the rear of the X frame, as it is directly fixed and installed on the X frame without shock absorption function. If the drive wheel moves forward, it not only causes abnormal wear on the drive gear ring and chain rail, but also has adverse effects on the X frame, which may cause early cracking and other problems.

Regularly clean the protective board

The protective plate of the walking motor can provide protection for the motor, and at the same time, some soil and gravel will enter the internal space, which will wear out the oil pipe of the walking motor. The water in the soil will corrode the joint of the oil pipe, so it is necessary to regularly open the protective plate to clean the dirt inside.
