Butter mixed like this, excavator maintenance won’t be bad!

Butter mixed like this, excavator maintenance won't be bad!

(1)Where does the term butter come from?

The butter used in construction machinery is generally calcium based grease or lithium based grease. Because of its golden color, resembling the butter used in Western cuisine, it is collectively referred to as butter.

(2)Why does an excavator need to be buttered?

If an excavator is treated as a joint of the body during movement, that is, the upper and lower arms and the bucket at dozens of positions, friction will occur. When excavators work under heavy loads, the friction of related components is also more severe. In order to ensure the safety and smoothness of the entire movement system of the excavator, it is necessary to add appropriate butter in a timely manner.

(3)How should butter be beaten?

1. Before maintenance, retract the large and small arms of the excavator and determine the posture based on the surrounding environment. If possible, fully extend the forearm.

2. Squeeze the grease gun head firmly into the grease nozzle, so that the grease gun head is in a straight line with the grease nozzle. Swing the pressure arm of the butter gun to add until the butter overflows just above the pin shaft.

3. The two pin shafts of the bucket need to be lubricated daily until oil spills. The playing style of the forearm and forearm is less frequent, with around 15 hits each time.

(4) What are the parts where butter is applied?

Apart from the upper arm, lower arm, excavator bucket, rotating gear ring, and track correction frame, what other parts need to be lubricated with grease?

1. Operating pilot valve: Check the hemispherical head of the operating pilot valve column and add grease every 1000 hours.

2. Fan Tensioning Wheel Pulley: Adjust the position of the Tensioning Wheel shaft, remove the bearing and clean any impurities before applying butter.

3. Battery column: When working in a humid environment, applying butter appropriately to the battery column can effectively prevent rusting.

4. Rotating motor reducer bearing: a grease fitting that cannot be ignored, remember to add it every 500 hours of operation.

5. Rotating grease groove: To reduce friction, apply a strip tool to each tooth surface to protect and lubricate the contact surface between the oil cylinder shaft and the bearing shell.

6. Water pump bearings: When encountering oil emulsification and oil carbonization, butter should be applied. The old butter needs to be thoroughly replaced.

The working environment and high-intensity construction requirements make it impossible to be careless when adding butter for lubrication, so the work of adding butter to excavators should not be lazy.
